TNT Sports Secures FA Cup Deal along with Free-to-Air Coverage in UK

TNT Sports has agreed a landmark four-year broadcast deal with the Football Association to show the Emirates FA Cup from the 2025-26 season onwards. In a groundbreaking move, TNT Sports will share rights to England’s prestigious knockout competition with a free-to-air broadcaster, whose identity will be announced at a later date.

The deal marks a change from the current arrangement, where ITV and the BBC jointly hold the rights until 2024-25. Under the new agreement, TNT Sports, formerly known as BT Sport, is promising to show more FA Cup matches live than ever before. Every game from the third round onwards, excluding 3pm Saturday kick-offs, will be available on TNT Sports’ channels and streaming platform.

FA chief executive Mark Bullingham hailed the partnership, stating: “The Emirates FA Cup is our crown jewel, and it helps us to provide vital investment across every level of English football. TNT Sports are an outstanding broadcaster with an impressive record, so we are delighted to be working with them to ensure the FA Cup continues to thrive.”

While TNT Sports will showcase the vast majority of FA Cup games live, fans will still be able to watch selected matches free-to-air during each round. The showpiece final, being a listed Group A event, must also be offered to free-to-air broadcasters. Highlights of every FA Cup tie will also be made available on free TV.

In addition to the FA Cup, TNT Sports has secured rights to the FA Community Shield, the traditional curtain-raiser to the English season, as well as the FA Youth Cup semi-finals and final. The deal underlines TNT Sports’ commitment to English football, with the broadcaster already holding rights to the Vanarama National League.

Andrew Georgiou, President and Managing Director of Warner Bros. Discovery UK & Ireland and WBD Sports Europe, expressed his delight at bringing “more matches of the world’s most prestigious domestic cup competition than ever before” to TNT Sports customers, alongside their Premier League and UEFA Champions League coverage.

With broad availability across multiple platforms, this new partnership aims to maintain the FA Cup’s cherished status and ensure the famous competition continues to captivate audiences in the years ahead.
