FITE has secured exclusive rights to broadcast the AFC Champions League soccer tournament in the UK, Ireland, Belgium, France and the Netherlands for the 2023/24 season. The deal marks an expansion effort by the streaming service, which is owned by Triller, beyond its core combat sports programming. FITE will show matches from the Asian tournament, featuring clubs from countries like Saudi Arabia and Japan, on its over-the-top FITE+ streaming service.
While FITE built its platform around combat sports, it has recently acquired rights to events like Rugby League World Cup as it tries to diversify. The Champions League deal provides FITE access to a new audience it can expose to its wider sports portfolio.
