Italian Serie B signs new international rights deal

Italian Serie B signed a new international rights deal with B4 Capital agency. The deal marks the first time that Serie B will be independant of Serie A when it comes to negotiating international TV rights. The deal lasts through the 2014/15 season.

In the past, only RAI Int’l showed Serie B action. The new deal could see a separate player showing the Italian second tier competition.

Andrea Abodi, president of Serie B, has been quoted as saying that the league is “continuing on its path of growth and consolidation of a sporting and economic identity that will take effect even beyond the boundaries of the Italian peninsula.”
